Kindness Activity Classroom Guidance Lesson for Elementary School Counseling
This elementary school counseling classroom guidance lesson introduces students to the ripple effect of kindness! Use a simple demonstration with water and food coloring to illustrate the point. Give students a card with a peer's name for the student to cast a secret "kindness spell" during the lesson. Students complete a simple cooperative team-building exercise and do cast their kindness spells during the activity. Discuss how it felt to show and receive kindness and how this created a ripple effect during the activity! Students look into their "crystal balls" and predict what the world would be like if we all cast a kindness spell.
Includes lesson plan (objectives, outline/script, materials list, ASCA standards alignment, suggested process, perception, and outcome data measures), pre-test/post-tests, student handout, and objectives assessment checklist.
