Career Exploration Classroom Guidance Lesson for Elementary School Counseling
This elementary school counseling classroom guidance lesson gives students a chance to explore their interests, passions, skills, and goals as they relate to career clusters. In a movement-based "6 corners" activity, students read given choices and select the career cluster most closely aligned to their preferences. Students then review careers in their preferred cluster and discuss their shared values and passions with same-clustered peers.
Includes lesson plan (objectives, outline/script, materials list, ASCA standards alignment, suggested process and perception data), pre-test/post-test, ready-to-show PowerPoint presentation for activity, posters and cards for activity, student checklist, 2 options for student craft/summary activity, 80+ career posters detailing the values, work environment, tools, daily tasks, and education of various community helpers grouped by career cluster, and objectives assessment checklist.
