Help your students manage anger with simple calming strategies! This resource contains 2 sequential elementary school counseling classroom guidance lessons In the first lesson, illustrate how anger can make us bubble over and explode when we do not have calming strategies using a simple vinegar and baking soda experiment. Students then complete an Anger Triggers Scoot activity to identify their own anger triggers. Before ending the lesson, practice Hocus Focus Breathing (deep breathing) to leave the students with one effective calming strategy. In the second lesson, students complete a Calming Strategies Scoot to identify calming strategies that will be effective for them. Collect calming strategies card to keep in your cauldron with your anger triggers to help you not bubble over!

Includes 2 lesson plans (objectives, outline/script, materials list, ASCA standards alignment, suggested process, perception, and outcome data measures), pre-test/post-tests, PowerPoint slides, student cauldron craft (color and black/white), anger triggers scoot cards, anger triggers checklist, calming strategies scoot cards, and calming strategy cards to put inside cauldron craft.
