Career Education Classroom Guidance Lesson for Elementary School Counseling
This elementary school counseling classroom guidance lesson introduces students to 6 community helpers who help out on the safari! Read the printable or PowerPoint story about these community helpers (one from each career cluster: health sciences, business services, human services, agricultural sciences, communication arts, and technical sciences) to introduce students to their skills and interests. As a group, hypothesize about what these community helpers might be good at doing and what they might like to do. Students create their own accordion book in which they identify one of their interests, one of their skills, and one career they might be interested in.
Includes lesson plan (objectives, outline/script, materials list, ASCA standards alignment), printable or PowerPoint story, ready-to-show PowerPoint reviewing community helpers' interests and skills, editable PowerPoint to make your own list, student handout, and objectives assessment checklist.
