Coping Skills Classroom Guidance Lesson for Elementary School Counseling
This classroom guidance lesson introduces students to 9 coping skills with a fun camping theme. Use an interactive demonstration with 2 rolling chairs and a yardstick to show students why it's so important to have skills and strategies to use when we go through tough experiences! Students create a folding backpack craft to store the coping skills for future reference.
Includes lesson plan (objectives, outline/script, materials list, ASCA standards alignment, suggested process, perception, and outcome data), pre-test/post-test, ready-to-show PowerPoint on 9 coping skills, backpack craft and coping skill cards in color and black/white, and objectives assessment checklist. Additional materials needed: 2 rolling chairs and a yardstick, broom or similar item.
