Leadership Small Group Counseling Program with Community Building Activities

Aloha Keiki group counseling program is designed for upper elementary student-leaders or students who need a little encouragement to use their leadership skills! The aloha spirit is fostered, encouraging students to create a cohesive, compassionate, safe school environment. Students learn about basic principles of behavior that promote a positive school environment that can be implemented on a small scale or individual level. Students are taught that even one person can begin a ripple effect for positive community-building! This program can be implemented in small group counseling or classroom guidance lessons.

Sessions guide:
☀️Session 1: E komo mai (welcome) - introductory session
☀️Session 2: Pono (goodness, morality) - making good decisions, evaluating own behavior
☀️Session 3: Kokua (help) - intentionally helping others
☀️Session 4: Mahalo (thank you) - expressing gratitude for things in our lives
☀️Session 5: Kuleana (responsibility) - basic principles of responsibility
☀️Session 6: Aloha (love, affection, compassion, peace) - empathy-building
☀️Session 7: Ohana (family) - creating cohesive environment
☀️Session 8 Pau (done, finished) - termination session, create plan for improving school community after group
