This elementary school counseling classroom guidance lesson give students a chance to explore the things that give them "inner light"! Use a flashlight demonstration to show students how having positive self esteem helps us even when things around us feel dark. Students create a lantern craft to highlight the things that give them "inner light" and then complete a closing activity to celebrate everyone's inner light!

Includes lesson plan (objectives, outline/script, materials list, ASCA standards alignment, suggested process, perception, and outcome data), pre-test/post-test, student craft handouts, and objectives assessment checklist. Additional materials needed: 2 flashlights and a ball of yarn.
